Work Plan for the Project on the Evaluation, Promotion and Management of Products of Waste-to-Resource Transformation

Absrtact
For effective utilization of products of waste-to-resource transformation, the situations of international utilizations of products of waste-to-resource transformation are collected, and the variety and quantity of domestic inorganic substances are investigated in order to select Incinerator Bottom Ash and Basic Oxygen Furnace Slag with huge production volumes to be recycled and reused. After converting the Incinerator Bottom Ash into resources, the recycled aggregates of incinerator bottom ash and Basic Oxygen Furnace Slag can become good construction materials to replace the mining of natural gravels to be properly used for harbor construction project and transportation construction project. It can create a recycle economic mode with a win-win situation for economy and environmental protection. This project also reviews the domestic marine construction projects for which the recycled aggregates can be used, and evaluates the cost and effectiveness of recycled aggregates used for construction projects. Based on the result of evaluation, the promotion of recycled aggregates for construction application will lead to positive effects. This project actually promotes the use of recycled aggregates for harbor construction project, and the tracking continues after the completion of construction project. The result of tracking indicates good performance, such that it is recommended to continue with such promotion. In addition, in this project the construction outline specifications for the harbor construction project are selected for modification. It is suggested that two construction outline specifications should be modified: 02713 Bottom Layer of Low Strength Concrete, and 02795 Permeable Concrete Floor Tiles. The suggestions for modification have been proposed after relevant tests were conducted such that they can meeting the requirement of subsequent construction project.
